Type of anaesthesia:

Type of Stay:

Presentable immediately

Effects:

Botulinum toxin is a bacterial protein that is produced naturally. Upon injection a muscle by a medical expert, it directly blocks the local motor nerve impulse, preventing the muscle from contracting as usual. Other nerval functions, such as feeling and touch are not affected.

The effects are noticeable within 3 to 5 days and normally last for about 3 to 6 months. It is advisable to repeat the treatment at that point. As the muscle weakens, the length of the intervals between treatments steadily increases.

Indication:

Frown lines (glabellar lines) between the eyebrows
A furrowed brow
Crow’s feet
Downturned corners of the mouth
Neck creases

Treatment:

After the application of a pain-relieving cream, botulinum toxin (e.g. Dysport®, Botox®)  is injected into the desired areas with a very fine syringe. The procedure is practically painless. Afterwards, in order to prevent bleeding and swelling, the area is briefly cooled.

After the procedure:

Cool the area lightly
You may apply make-up after 2 hours
Avoid lying down for 4 – 5 hours
Do not participate in sports on the day of the treatment
Avoid going to sauna for 4 days
